How does Heat Treatment Work?

Modern heat treatments are far more discreet than they used to be.

Properties are heated from within, so there is no need to run external pipes into a home, which previously made an infestation obvious to neighbours.

The whole process usually takes between six and eight hours for a three to five bedroom property, depending on layout and clutter.

  1. Rooms are arranged to allow maximum airflow into potential cold spots and target activity areas.
  2. A light, non-toxic powder treatment can be applied to the perimeter and floor of the treatment zone (optional).
  3. Temperature sensors are distributed around the treatment zone for live monitoring.
  4. Heaters are vented into the treatment zone until the kill temperature is reached.
  5. That temperature is then held for the required length of time.
  6. The area is checked for any signs of residual activity.
  7. Heaters are moved to the next room or packed away once treatment is complete.

We will brief you on a short list of items to move out of the treatment zone before we arrive.

A small amount of prep helps the treatment work as efficiently as possible: declutter the treatment areas, move out a small list of heat-sensitive items (we give you the list), and arrange to be out of the property for the day. We do the rest.
