Heat TreatmentsOur technicians running a chemical-free heat treatment.
Covering the whole of the UK, JG Pest Control provide unmatched specialist heat treatments for the eradication of bed bugs and other insects. Same-day eradication, fully guaranteed, every job carried out by RSPH (BPCA) Level 2 certified and trainee technicians.
Bed bugs are increasingly resistant to off-the-shelf chemicals, which is why heat is the most reliable way to wipe out an infestation in a single visit. Chemical-only treatments can take weeks, sometimes months, and often need multiple revisits. Heat kills bugs at every stage of their life cycle, including the eggs, and JG Pest Control guarantee same-day eradication.
Modern heat treatments are far more discreet than they used to be.
Properties are heated from within, so there is no need to run external pipes into a home, which previously made an infestation obvious to neighbours.
The whole process usually takes between six and eight hours for a three to five bedroom property, depending on layout and clutter.
Thanks to our specialist heat treatment team and industry-leading equipment, we deliver the quickest, most discreet and least disruptive heat treatment available in the UK.

Benefits of a Heat Treatment
Rapid eradication
Heat treatment is the quickest and most effective way to clear an infestation in a single visit. It is most commonly used against bed bugs, moths and cockroaches, but it is also extremely effective against fleas, beetles and wood-boring insects such as woodworm.
Kills all stages of insects
Once the kill temperature is reached, every life stage of the insect is destroyed, including eggs, larvae and pupae. Eggs are largely unaffected by chemical pesticides, which is why heat is the more reliable method.
Safe
Far less chemical is used, in many cases none at all, so the risk of chemical residue or sensitivity reactions is reduced.
Durable and flexible
Heat can be used on most items, including delicate fabrics, soft furnishings and electronics, without the restrictions that apply to many sprays.
What can be Treated with a Heat Treatment?
Chemical treatments are restrictive because certain products can only be used in particular places.
Heat, by contrast, can be applied to most items, including delicate fabrics, clothing, bedding and electronics. With heat we can treat furniture, walls, ceilings, floors and personal belongings.
JG regularly carry out heat treatments in residential homes, hotels, HMOs, commercial premises, industrial units, vehicles, stock and ISPM 15 pallets, aircraft and boats.
What does a Heat Treatment do?
Heats the affected area to above 50°C
Kills all life stages of the insect, including adults, nymphs and eggs
Extremely effective, single-visit eradication
Chemical treatments alone will not kill insect eggs

Frequently Asked Questions: Bed Bug Heat Treatment
Most domestic jobs take between six and eight hours from setup to pack-down for a three to five bedroom property. Smaller flats and single rooms are usually shorter, larger properties or HMOs can run longer. You will have an accurate time estimate before we book the job in.
Every job is priced on visit because property size, access and the spread of the infestation all change the picture. We give a free, no-obligation quote over the phone first, and the price is locked in before any work starts. Get in touch for a free quote.
Yes. Treatment temperatures (around 50 to 60°C) are well below the damage threshold for normal household furniture, soft furnishings and most electronics. Pets and people leave the property before treatment starts and return once the area has cooled, usually the same day. We will brief you on a short list of items to move out of the treatment zone before we arrive.
A small amount of prep helps the treatment work as efficiently as possible: declutter the treatment areas, move out a small list of heat-sensitive items (we give you the list), and arrange to be out of the property for the day. We do the rest.
Yes - and this is the main reason heat is more reliable than chemical-only treatment. Bed bug eggs are largely resistant to off-the-shelf insecticides, but they cannot survive the kill temperature reached during a professional heat treatment. Every life stage, from egg to adult, is destroyed in a single visit.
Same-day cover is standard across London, Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, Newcastle and Essex. Anywhere else in mainland UK we aim to be on site within 24 hours. Out of hours, our national line on rolls 24/7.
Yes, every heat treatment is fully guaranteed. If any persistence is found within the cover period (up to three months, depending on the property) we return at no extra cost. Cover terms are confirmed in writing with the job.
Every job is carried out by a RSPH (BPCA) Level 2 certified and trainee technician, the recognised UK industry qualification for pest management. JG Pest Control was founded in 2010 and has been running heat treatments across the UK for more than 15 years.
