Following the UN’s plea for us to eat more insects to solve world hunger, this infographic looks at some of the insects already being eaten. Did you know there are an estimated 4-6 million different species of insect, and humans consume just a few thousand of them?

As humans are outnumbered by insects by a staggering 1.4 billion to one, perhaps it’s time we took entomophagy more seriously. Did you know that cochineal beetles and lac bugs probably already feature in your diet?
